BETTER NO FUEL FOR HAITI | Alce MK Henry

A country that is faced chronic fuel starvation, it is a country that says openly that: If the rest of the world needs that to keep things running, as for us, we don't want it. In other words, it is a country that does not work. Why fuel if we're not working? Why fuel if we are not moving forward? What is the fuel used for, when you are an old machine put in the garage, and especially with a crushed and rusty engine? Haiti is a car in demolished mode, already disassembled by its politicians, this takes no Gas.

If it’s just to stay in this situation of road insecurity, on dirt and stony roads, it’s better not having fuel. Those who walk over a donkey do not need fuel. This is the affair of the Dominican Republic and Jamaica which gives us years of gap, but which nevertheless claims to be late. As for the Haitians, it's better not let them play with fuel for fear that they will burn themselves.

The world sets itself Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), that's their business. As for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we do not care. They can perfectly talk about their public transport system. The Trans-Air, Rail, Maritime and Land, whatever you call it, that’s their problem. We are going nowhere; we are shaking just to remind the world that the first black republic is still breathing. That’s why, we don't ask them to see us beautiful nor healthy. We neither pretend to want to be embellished nor prosperous. Just remained always faithful to our national slogan: PITO NOU LÈD NOU LA! For people who walk, the back of a donkey or the saddle of a bicycle is just fine. Best of all, a motorcycle taxi or public van is all we need.

Poor us! We have lost the real sense of shame.
